The best place to find great restoration marketing ideas, you ask? Obviously, I’m a little biased on this one… but, I’m woman enough to recommend some great websites to use as resources for marketing ideas in the property restoration, because, if we’re honest with ourselves, there’s no such things as too many marketing ideas, right?
Ok yes, that was a shameless self promotion, but let me explain – this website is SOLELY to provide restoration marketing ideas to sale professionals in our industry. Plain and simple. It was started because I saw a severe lack of a one-stop-marketing-ideas-shop where professionals from any company could come together and find solid marketing plans, websites, recommendations, and more. It was born from a need to find industry specific information – not construction information that has to be tailored to property restoration. You can also join our online Linkedin group here.
Chris Perry has no idea this blog exists, but I do find some of his tweets to be very geared toward restoration marketing. No, this isn’t a blog, it’s a micro-blog. 140 characters mostly choc full of interesting marketing facts, tips, and a few quality quotes. His website, www.morefloods.com – # , is also a resource, but you’ll have to pay to attend various classes (hey, no such this as a free lunch, right?).
You’ve gotta love the sincerity and bluntness a forum-like environment brings about. It’s why I recommend my third resource as ContractorTalk.com. Contractor Talk came to light during a Google search for Marketing ideas when I happened upon a thread of “5 Marketing ideas that DO NOT WORK.” Ha! Uncensored and to the point – exactly what you need when finding marketing ideas. If they don’t work, they don’t work.
I’ll have to check in with Mark on how one can sign up for these newsletters, but connecting with him on newsletter – #profile/view?id=25994318&authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=MdPK&locale= en_US&srchid=022c9f59-6406-485a-8d1c-8826d1508761-0&srchindex=1&srchtotal=1574&goback=%2Efps_PBCK_mark+gibson_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*2_*1_Y_ *1_*1_*1_false_1_R_*1_*51_*1_*51_true_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_ *2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2&pvs=ps&trk=pp_profile_name_link Linkedin should get you on the list … somehow. It’s how I ended up on there at least. Mark’s yay for newsletters!).
I love Linkedin. It’s a great place for people from all areas to network, share information, and collaborate. Restoration Business Owners and Managers group is no different. Comprised of nearly 2,000+ members, there’s a constant stream of information being posted in this group! Servpro, Servicemaster, Paul Davis, etc etc etc… doesn’t matter who you are, this place is for anyone in the industry looking for information outside their own little bubbles.
….. ok one more bonus round….

This marketing stuff’s fun, isn’t it?! There’s something about working with good people and transforming businesses (and lives) that makes our jobs fantastic! That Confucius guy really knew his stuff when he said “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
